Simple Sunshine Care

Brazilian Gloss - Thursday, March 24, 2024

We all know that we need to take care of our skin, but we tend to fall off the wagon from time to time. So here is a little reminder of some SIMPLE things you can do to help keep that youthful glow to your skin.
  1. DRINK MORE WATER! Most of us do not drink enough water and therefore our skin gets dry. Hydrate, your body will thank you.
  2. Exfoliate. This helps rid your skin of dead cells, leaving your skin softer and smoother. It also helps to prevent ingrown hairs. (Ouch!) It also helps to unclog your pores which will create a smoother tan while you bronze on the beach this summer.
  3. Moisturize. A good moisturizer applied both at night before bed, and in the morning under your makeup will help to keep your pores from clogging with your makeup and dirt from the air. You do not have to change your moisturizer during the fall/winter and summer/spring. Just use less in the warmer months!
  4. Sunscreen. We know it is important to put it on when we are headed for a day at the beach, but what about the day you spend walking around shopping? The sun is still shining and you are not protected! Put sunscreen on 30 minutes before you are going to be in the sun, so after you get out the shower apply sunscreen to the exposed skin and keep it beautiful. Use an oil-free, waterproof sunscreen so that you won’t sweat it off during the day and you can apply it on your face too!
  5. Wear a hat. While it won’t protect your face as much as the sunscreen will, it will definitely protect your hair. Keep those gorgeous locks from drying out by covering them up in the sun. Also, bring a leave in conditioner so when you come out of the water you can apply it to keep your hair moisturized, especially blondes.  Green is a great fashion color, but not on your hair!
